Who am I?

My name is Vivian Thomas. I have been working with children for over 27 years. I am a certified PK-5th grade and special education teacher with an endorsement in English Language Learners (ELL), and Gifted Learners. I've earned my specialist degree in instructional technology as well. I have experience as a summer camp director, pre-kindergarten, 1st grade, technology specials/connections, and 5th-grade educator. I have dedicated the last five years to learning more about Attention-Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), and other health impairments to better assist my son who was diagnosed with ADHD in 2015.

Teaching is my passion. I was not fulfilling my whole purpose as a teacher and I felt in my heart that I need to do more, so I started Exceptionally Different Scholars. I want the world to know that just because a student learns, thinks, or behaves differently does not mean that the child is not an exceptional scholar.

Academic Summer Camp

Summer Camp is designed to meet the needs of each individual child. You will get the luxury of a low student-teacher ratio. More classes are available during summer camp for students who need support in organizing, anger management, strategies to focus, time management, team-building and more. Child Care Summer Camp and tutoring, all in one!

Summer Camp hours are flexible.
