WELCOME TO OUR

PARENTS' CORNER

Our Goal

We want to help your child grow from a caterpillar to a butterfly. One who is unique! Our goal is to not only support your child in academic growth but to support the whole child.

We want to help children learn in a way that fits who they are not who we want them to be.

We want to teach the ELL student how to connect their native language to English. Help the student with ADD and ADHD with organizational skills, how to focus better, self-control, accountability, self-awareness, and responsibility. We want to teach the child with Mild Autism how to be more vocal and confident and show the child with Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) how to work through their feelings and communicate in more appropriate ways. We are great at teaching the Gifted student how to maximize their gift and still be able to socialize with other students. We want to teach each child how to be the best at who they are and where they are!

As an educator and a parent of a child with ADHD, I struggled to find an after-school and summer camp program that my child felt like he could be who he is and be accepted. I was overwhelmed with the phone calls from school and I did not feel like anyone could relate to what I was going through as a parent and he as a child. This is when I decided to open Exceptionally Different Scholars.

Now...you have someone that can help you and your child!!

We offer personalized tutoring in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies for all Kindergarten-8th grade students. We also advocate and assist with strategies for children with ADD, ADHD, Mild Autism, Behavior Challenges, English Language Learners, and students with Social Adaptation concerns as well as assist parents and teachers with strategies to work with scholars of all ages.

We are NOW offering assistance with Digital/Virtual School. Students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one or with a small group for face-to-face teacher/tutor interaction at your home, a library, or my home. If you are not comfortable with face-to-face, students may also participate in tutoring sessions online with zoom. The hours for tutoring at this time are from 4 pm-8 pm with one hour slots. Weekend assistance may be available as well.

We will help with online assignments, homework, and students who need help understanding concepts and strategies with all subject areas from phonics and sight words to algebra and geometry. As well as organizing assignments, and learning online digital learning databases such as eCLASS, Canvas, and others.
